Mobile App

The Homecast mobile app lets you control your HomeKit devices from your phone, anywhere.

Platforms

  • iOS / macOS: Built with Mac Catalyst from the app-ios-macos project. Only the macOS build acts as a relay for the whole household — but an iPhone or iPad invited to the home in Apple Home can talk to Apple Home directly on its own behalf, so it keeps working when the relay can't be reached. See Local Mode.
  • Android / Windows / Linux: Built with Tauri from the app-android-windows-linux project. Wraps the web dashboard in a native shell, and always reaches your home through the relay.

Homecast Cloud: use the same account as the web dashboard. Open the app, enter your email and password, and your homes appear.

Community Edition: choose Community instead. The app lists the Macs running Homecast on your network — pick yours and you're connected, with no address to type. If nothing appears (guest Wi-Fi and client-isolated networks block discovery), or you're away from home, enter the server URL instead. It accepts a full address, so a relay reached over a VPN or an HTTPS tunnel works the same way. See Community Setup.

What you get

  • Homes tab — browse homes and rooms, control accessories with the same widgets as the web dashboard
  • Collections tab — view and control your custom accessory groups
  • Settings tab — account info and appearance preferences
